Mari Holden

CTS Expert Coach –  Specializes in Cycling Coaching

Since retiring as a professional athlete, I have stayed involved in cycling as a team director for the UCI Women’s Team Sho-Air TWENTY20.  I thrive in the highly energetic and chaotic world of bike racing. My gift is my ability to keep perspective and focused. I also am a firm believer in patience and perseverance as a part of the process. As an athlete, I was able to focus with laser-like vision. I am most proud of my ability to see the big picture and help my athletes prioritize and stay on track.

As the director of a Women’s team, I am used to dealing with people who are typically juggling work, sport, and family. I believe that finding the right balance to accomplish your goal is very important and my belief is that you can accomplish big things with focused training.”

Coach Bio:

I have been involved with Endurance sports my whole life. I started as a junior in triathlon and raced professionally sprint and Olympic distance (Junior Athlete of the Year 1991). I transitioned into bike racing where I won a combined 6 National Championships in both the Road Race and Time Trial. I went on to win the World Championships in Plouay, France and an Olympic medal in Sydney, Australia 2000.

I will always be an athlete. I love being healthy and enjoying the outdoors. You will most often find me trail running, hiking with my dog Beetle or riding my bike. I love exploring and learning. My bucket list includes a visit Machu Picchu.
