CTS Expert Coach
“The arch of a coach-athlete relationship is beautifully simple. One half must bring science, safety, and satisfaction while the other half requires an equal amount of committed effort. When they meet in the middle, they form an elegant structure of inspiration, joy and unrivaled progress!”
Coach Bio:
My fascination with endurance and physical thresholds began in high school with cross-country. Growing up in the desert near Zion National Park in Utah, I quickly realized how enjoyable riding/running long distances on singletrack could be and haphazardly jumped into the ultra realm when I completed the Zion 100 for the first time in 2013. I also found triathlon where I worked up to the full distance at Ironman Texas in 2015 as well. I earned a B.S. Degree in Exercise Science (2015), then later a M.S. in Exercise Science (2017) from Utah State University. Upon graduating, I started working for the largest manufacturer of fitness equipment in the world at the time. Through that opportunity, I worked with athletes from numerous professional athletes to an Olympic gold medalist and was able to run and bike in various gorgeous locations across four continents. I later transferred to a clinical setting within the healthcare sector where I was able to help patients reach medical clearance to return to competitive sports after surgical interventions (Achilles rupture, full ACL tear, etc). Two realizations I have made through life are that we can all do better at finding joy in the journey and that our bodies are capable of impossibly great things if we are consistent and patient!
