When I set out on my athletic journey as a young high school athlete, success came quickly, and my mind was filled with dreams of becoming the best. What I found instead was something far more difficult and far more meaningful. I discovered who I was underneath it all.

As a lifelong athlete and professional coach, I’ve found that underlying the races, the finish times, and even the community, there is something more profound: you. Endurance sport asks something extraordinary of us. We willingly surrender to a process of being broken down and rebuilt, again and again. When we embrace that process, learn to adapt, to embrace the challenge and the unknowns, it’s truly transformative in every regard. My role as a coach is to provide sound training backed by proven methods.

Effective training builds a resilient body, and a resilient body provides the stable home that allows the mind to flourish. To this day, I continue to chase my own dreams alongside my athletes as a professional trail runner, but I always hold that the greatest achievement isn’t simply what we accomplish, but the people we become along the way.
