We have the industry’s only in-house Coaching Education Program with ongoing mentoring and evaluations and an independent Athlete Services team to give you personal support.

The following CTS Coach Levels reflect the progression coaches work through by expanding their knowledge and experience through years of coaching athletes, continuing education, advanced degrees and certifications, and developing a proven track record of athlete success.
Expert Coach
1-2+ YEARS EXPERIENCE

- Sports Science Degree*
- CTS Expert Coaches have gone through extensive vetting and intensive instruction conducted by CTS Coaches that goes beyond any National Governing Body certification. They have demonstrated personal mastery in one or more sports and have at least a bachelor’s degree level knowledge in sports science.
Senior Coach
2-5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE

- CTS Senior Coaches have demonstrated continued excellence in coaching athletes at all levels. These coaches have several years of coaching experience (a minimum of 1 year with CTS), regularly attend continuing education opportunities, and have a proven high success rate with their athletes.
Pro Coach
5-8+ YEARS EXPERIENCE

- Advanced Sports Science Degree*
- CTS Pro Coaches are among the best endurance coaches in the country. These coaches have demonstrated coaching mastery and typically hold advanced degrees/certifications. Pro Coaches are part of CTS’ elite team. They frequently participate as Lead Coach at CTS Training Camps, clinics, speaking engagements, and are recognized specialists in their field.
Premier Coach

- CTS Premier Coaches are considered among the world's best endurance coaches. They have dedicated their careers to mastering coaching and have achieved remarkable results with their athletes. This group sets the standard of coaching excellence and guides the CTS Coaching Philosophy.
* While most of our coaches have an exercise science degree, we do make accommodations for those that do not. During our screening process, coaches must demonstrate that they have at least a bachelor's level understanding of exercise physiology. Our initial training and ongoing education(at least weekly) is in addition to this base knowledge.

Our rigorous coach hiring process ensures you'll only work with the best coaches. We look for coaches who demonstrate a high-level knowledge of sports science, proven coaching experience, mastery of their chosen sport, and a passion for working with athletes at all levels.
Recruit Top Coaches
Most coaches who join CTS come through referrals from our current coaches who recognize their potential. We also keep an eye out for coaches who have developed a good reputation in the community.
In-Depth Interview & Experience Review
We review each coach to assess their sports science knowledge, certifications, professional coaching experience, training programming ability, sport mastery, and coach-athlete relationship-building skills. Many coaches who apply do not make it past this stage.
CTS Coaching College & Onboarding
New coaches who join the CTS team go through extensive training on the CTS Coaching Philosophy with high-level CTS Coaches and the CTS Director of Coaching. During this time, their knowledge is further put to the test and they are taken through real-world coaching scenarios. We ensure every coach meets CTS' coaching standards before they ever work with a CTS Athlete.
Continuing Education & Coaching Excellence
CTS Coaches are expected to maintain a high athlete success rate while working with CTS Athletes. We continually mentor coaches and monitor feedback from athletes, in addition to other metrics, to ensure coaches are delivering an amazing athlete experience. CTS Coaches are also expected to participate in ongoing continuing education opportunities throughout the year to stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices to improve their coaching knowledge base.
