I grew up in a house obsessed with hockey and football in Buffalo, NY and wanted to be an athlete. But when I was 14 and 6’1 and 150 lbs, I realized contact sports weren’t going to be my future. When I saw “Breaking Away” and realized that endurance sports would be me hurting myself for as long as I could, I knew I was home. I’ve been coaching endurance athletes from every walk of life for the past decade. I thrive on learning, racing and teaching anything related to bikes. I honed my chops racing road and triathlon. And now I’m a cyclocross junkie. I married the favorite person I ever met. We have a toddler son and are expecting a daughter spring 2014.
I believe in balancing athletic and other life pursuits and tailoring training around the individual. Coaching is my dream job, as I love sports and I love interacting with people. I get to know each athlete as a whole person and learn what motivates each individual athlete to get the results they want. I am a specialist at “on the bike” coaching, and my motivational skills are put to use at CTS training camps all year long. I’ve achieved success working with Ironman triathletes, as well as road and cyclocross cyclists. I’m available for private training camps as well as physiological testing services at CTS locations.
