Immerse yourself in a true triathlon specific training experience at our Santa Ynez Triathlon Skills and Training 101 Camp.  This camp is geared toward skills and technique development, and you will have dedicated time to refine your swim stroke, improve your cycling and running, practice transitions, and learn about nutrition and pacing.  

Our professional triathlon coaches will work with you on all aspects of the sport while providing an opportunity for quality training time. This Triathlon camp is based in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley with access to a private outdoor pool, running track and world-class cycling routes.  

We’ve designed this early season camp to refine your technique and training ahead of the 2019 triathlon season, and push your limits whether you are a beginner or experience racer.

THE DUNN SCHOOL

Tri School is based at the scenic Dunn School campus in Los Olivos, CA.  With an outdoor pool, running track, dinning and boarding facilities all in one place, plus the great riding routes of the Santa Ynez Valley, it’s the perfect location to spend a week training with our top triathlon coaches.

Camp Itinerary

DAY 0

CHECK-IN DAY – 2/20/2019

Where: CTS Santa Ynez

Check-in Time: 2:00-5:00PM

Arrival:After dropping off your bike and a brief check-in process, you’ll join the CTS coaching staff and fellow triathletes for a gourmet dinner and a preview of the camp ahead. If you’d like to add any lab testing or a bike fit to your camp, it’s best to arrive before 2 pm on this day.

Dinner: Dos Carlitos @ 6:00-7:30 PM

DAY 1

A.M. SWIM TECHNIQUE, VIDEO ANALYSIS AND RUN / P.M. CYCLING WORKOUT

Description: We start camp with a swim session at our private pool focusing on technique and video analysis.   The swim session is followed by a short running technique workout before meeting for lunch. In the afternoon, after reviewing some swim video data from the morning, we will head out on our bikes to complete the CTS Field Test and establish power and heart-rate based training ranges.

DAY 2

A.M. AEROBIC SWIM SET AND RIDE / P.M. BRICK WORKOUT

Description:

Once again we start the day at the pool, this time completing an aerobic paced swim workout while our coaches keep an eye on your technique.  We transition from the swim to a short ride before lunch. In the afternoon we will complete a staple workout with a bike to run brick session.  We finish the day with a training presentation before a fun group dinner in Santa Ynez.

DAY 3

ON-OFF BRICK WORKOUT

Description: For our final day of camp we will tackle a key workout for any triathlete, an on/off session that involves multiple ride to run intervals.  You’ll practice your transition skills each time and have specific pacing goals for both your cycling and running intervals. CTS Coaches will be on hand to help you push your limits and refine technique.  This race specific workout is a must-do before any early-season races.

Camp Conclusion Description:  Camp concludes with a review of your workout data from the day and a final group lunch in Santa Ynez

Airports: Santa Barbara is approximately 35 minutes from Santa Ynez. LAX is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes from Santa Ynez (allow more time during high traffic periods).

If you are shipping your bike, please make sure it arrives at CTS by February 20th, 2019 so we can have it built and prepped in time for camp.

After you sign up, please let the camp manager know if you would like us to pack your bike for shipping at the conclusion of the camp, we will do it free of charge.
