DAY 2
BRIDGE OF HEAVEN - WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 2027
Mileage: 8-10 miles
Elevation Gain: 3,000-4,000 ft
Time Range: 4 hours
The opener is a classic Ouray climb to a high alpine ridge above town. The sustained vertical gives athletes time to settle into altitude-aware pacing while coaches work on climbing efficiency, hiking transitions, foot placement, and controlled descending. The reward is one of the defining panoramic views in the San Juans.
| LUNCH | Post-run at the CTS House |
| TRAINING / ANALYSIS | Post-run presentation, feedback, and route review |
| DINNER | CTS House at 5:30 p.m. |
DAY 3
HAYDEN PASS - THURSDAY, JULY 8, 2027
Mileage: 7-8 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,400 ft
Time Range: 3-4 hours
A shorter day by design, but still a true mountain effort. The planned route uses the Crystal Lake / Hayden trail area to create a point-to-point experience that finishes back toward Ouray. The focus is efficient uphill movement, confident descending, and sound decisions on technical alpine trails.
| START / FINISH | Drop-off near the Crystal Lake / Hayden trail area; finish in or near Ouray |
| LUNCH | Post-run at the CTS House |
| TRAINING / ANALYSIS | Presentation, data review, and Q&A |
| DINNER | CTS House at 5:30 p.m. |
DAY 4
HARDROCK 100 RUN EXPERIENCE DAY - FRIDAY, JULY 9, 2027
Mileage: ~10 miles
Elevation Gain: ~4,700 ft
Time Range: 4-5 hours
The signature day of camp connects the athlete experience to Hardrock 100 week. We will climb high-alpine terrain in the Handies Peak / Animas Forks corridor, then return to Ouray for a front-row experience of the race atmosphere as Hardrock participants reach the Ouray Aid Station. Exact timing, route access, and cheering locations will be adjusted for weather, trail conditions, and group safety.
| FOCUS | Bucket-list Hardrock immersion, altitude management, and long-climb execution |
| LUNCH | Post-run / field lunch depending on route logistics |
| DINNER | CTS House at 5:30 p.m. |
DAY 5
BLUE LAKES TO BLUE LAKES PASS - SATURDAY, JULY 10, 2027
Mileage: 11.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 3,700 ft
Time Range: 4-5 hours
The camp finale showcases the San Juans at their best: turquoise alpine lakes, a steady climb through the basin, and a high pass near 13,000 feet beneath the Sneffels Range. Coaches will use the route to bring the week together - pacing, fueling, climbing, descending, and decision-making under cumulative fatigue.
| LUNCH | Post-run lunch and camp debrief |
| TRAINING / ANALYSIS | Post-run feedback and takeaways for future training |
| DINNER | CTS House at 5:30 p.m. |
