Camp Itinerary
DAY 1
CHECK-IN DAY - WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 2027
Check in, meet the coaching and support team, and review the schedule, route-group format, and safety expectations. A short presentation on Rating of Perceived Exertion (RPE) will give everyone a shared framework for pacing the three training runs. Dinner follows at 6:00 p.m.
| WHERE | CTS House - Sedona, Arizona; exact address shared before camp |
| ROUTE FORMAT | Ability-based groups with route variations and comparable time on trail |
| EVENING | Dinner, introductions, RPE presentation, and camp overview |
DAY 2
TECHNICAL SKILLS + EFFICIENCY - THURSDAY, JANUARY 14, 2027
Mileage: 8-12 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,000 ft
Time Range: 3-4 hours
The first training run establishes efficient movement on Sedona's varied surfaces. Coaches will use runnable singletrack, slickrock, and short technical sections to refine foot placement, cadence, downhill control, uphill hiking transitions, and pole technique for athletes who use them. Route options let each group work at the right level while practicing pacing by RPE.
| RUN | Morning start; exact trailhead confirmed in the final camp schedule |
| SKILLS FOCUS | Foot placement, descending, uphill transitions, and pole use |
| LUNCH | Post-run at the CTS House |
| PRESENTATION | 4:30 p.m. |
| DINNER | 5:30 p.m. at the CTS House |
DAY 3
ENDURANCE + RACE EXECUTION - FRIDAY, JANUARY 15, 2027
Mileage: 14-20 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,500-4,000 ft
Time Range: 4-5.5 hours
The second run adds time on feet and more sustained climbing while keeping the effort controlled. You will practice steady pacing, efficient run-hike transitions, fueling and hydration timing, and a repeatable aid-station routine. Technical segments late in the run create an opportunity to maintain sound decisions and form as fatigue builds.

| LUNCH | Post-run at the CTS House |

LONG RUN + FATIGUE MANAGEMENT - SATURDAY, JANUARY 16, 2027
Mileage: 20-25 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,000 - 3,000 ft
Time Range: 5-7 hours
The capstone long run brings the camp's lessons together on a sustained day across Sedona's desert terrain. Coaches will help you apply disciplined pacing, fueling, climbing, descending, and technical decision-making after two prior training days. Route variations keep the duration and challenge appropriate for each group, and the final miles provide a useful test of race-day execution under fatigue.
