Come explore the amazing gravel roads of Steamboat Springs, refine your technical skills and event strategy, enjoy some of the wonderful food and nightlife that Steamboat Springs has to offer, and finish off the week with the world-class gravel race, SBT GRVL.
SBT GRVL is one of the world’s premier gravel races held on some of the greatest gravel Colorado has to offer. This gravel is unlike anything else you’ll find, a smooth hard pack that rolls fast, yet challenges with elevation and its persistence. Steamboat Springs’ varied terrain and captivating scenery will provide the backdrop for our daily adventures.
While at this camp, you will be treated like a professional cyclist in every way: from professional mechanical support to expert coaching instruction. After a few days of honing your gravel riding skills and exploring the fantastic roads around Routt County, we will bring it all together as we toe the line at the SBT GRVL event.
Your entry into the distance of your choice is included with the camp.

Camp Itinerary
DAY 1
CHECK-IN DAY - 8/16/2023
Check In Time: 2:00-4:00pm
Where: Coaches Field Office in Steamboat Springs, CO
Arrival Description: This is arrival and check-in day at the CTS field office. After dropping off your bike and a brief check-in process, you’ll join the CTS coaching staff and fellow riders for a short leg opener ride at 5:00 pm. Following the short ride Coaches and Athletes will have a group dinner and a preview of the days ahead.

DAY 2
GRAVEL ENDURANCE RIDE AND COURSE RECON - 8/17/2023
Mileage: 50-60 miles
Elevation Gain: 2000-3500 FT
Time Range: 3 - 3.5 Hours
Brief Ride Description: We will do a long gravel ride featuring key sections from the SBT GRVL event so that you are prepared for what’s to come. The day will provide enough miles to become familiar with the course and terrain while taking in the vast beauty that Steamboat Springs has to offer.

DAY 3
GRAVEL SKILLS - 8/18/2023
Mileage: 20-30 miles
Elevation Gain: 1000-2000 FT
Time Range: 1 - 2 Hours
Brief Ride Description: We will do a shorter gravel ride focusing on skills and techniques needed for the SBT GRVL event. Following the ride, we will have lunch, a training presentation, an optional message, and a group dinner that evening.

DAY 4
EASY RIDE AND FINAL EVENT PREP - 8/19/2023
Mileage: 10-20miles
Elevation Gain: 1000-2000 FT
Time Range: 1 - 2 Hours
Brief Ride Description: After a quick morning talk reviewing the SBT GRVL course highlights we will do a shorter recovery ride to loosen up before the next day’s event. Following the ride, we will have lunch, pick up our race packets, final prep for the event, and an optional massage.

DAY 5
SBT GRVL EVENT - 8/20/2023
Mileage: 37-141 miles
Elevation Gain: 2000-9000 FT
Time Range: Will vary
Brief Ride Description: We will toe the line for the much anticipated SBT GRVL event. There are three distances to choose from, but with CTS support and preparation we hope you choose a challenging one. Following the event, we will have a parting group dinner.
Dinner at 6:00-8:00 PM at the coaches' house post-event.
Camp Conclusion Description: The camp concludes following the SBT GRVL event and dinner. CTS will pack your bike for departure after you finish the ride.
