Come explore the amazing gravel roads of Steamboat Springs, refine your technical skills and event strategy, enjoy some of the wonderful food and nightlife that Steamboat Springs has to offer, and finish by taking on the SBT GRVL event.
SBT GRVL is the new premiere gravel race held on some of the greatest gravel roads in the world. Colorado gravel is unlike anything else you’ll find, smooth hard pack that rolls fast, yet challenges with elevation and its persistence. Steamboat Springs’ varied terrain and captivating scenery will provide the backdrop for our daily adventures.
After a few days of honing your gravel riding skills and exploring the fantastic roads around Routt County we will bring it all together as we ride the SBT GRVL event with the support of CTS coaches and staff. The event offers four different distances, from the inviting and fast 37 mile Green route, the solid 64 mile Red route, the "best of" 104 mile Blue route, to the epic 144 mile Black route.
Your entry into the distance of your choice is included with the camp.

Camp Itinerary
DAY 1
CHECK-IN DAY - 8/11/2021
Check In Time: 3:00-4:30pm
Where: Location TBD in Steamboat Springs, CO
Arrival Description: This is arrival and check-in day at the CTS field office. After dropping off your bike and a brief check-in process, you’ll join the CTS coaching staff and fellow riders for a short leg opener ride at 5:00 pm. Following the short ride Coaches and Athletes will have a group dinner and a preview of the days ahead.

DAY 2
GRAVEL ENDURANCE RIDE AND COURSE RECON
Mileage: 50-60 miles
Elevation Gain: 2000-3500 FT
Time Range: 3 – 3.5 Hours
Brief Ride Description: We gather in the morning at the field office for a short presentation over coffee. Following that we will do a long gravel ride featuring key sections from the SBT GRVL event so that you are prepared for what’s to come. The day will provide enough miles to become familiar with the course and terrain while taking in the vast beauty that Steamboat Springs has to offer. Following the ride we will have a lunch, optional massage.

DAY 3
GRAVEL SKILLS
Mileage: 20-30 miles
Elevation Gain: 1000-2000 FT
Time Range: 2 – 3 Hours
Brief Ride Description: We will do a shorter gravel ride focusing on skills and techniques needed for SBT GRVL event. Following the ride we will have a lunch, data download with a coach, optional massage.

DAY 4
Easy Ride and Final Event Prep
Mileage: 10-20 miles
Elevation Gain: 1000-2000 FT
Time Range: 1 – 2 Hours
Brief Ride Description: After a quick morning talk reviewing the SBT GRVL course highlights we will do a shorter recovery ride to loosen up before the next day’s event. Following the ride we will have a lunch, pick up our race packets, final prep for the event, optional massage.

DAY 5
SBT GRVL EVENT
Mileage: 37-141 miles
Elevation Gain: 2000-9000 FT
Time Range: will vary
Brief Ride Description: We will toe the line for the much anticipated SBT GRVL event. There are four distances to choose from, but with CTS support and preparation we hope you choose a challenging one. Finishing the event, we will enjoy food as part of the event finisher celebration and block party.
Camp Conclusion Description: The camp concludes following the SBT GRVL event. CTS will pack your bike for departure after you finish the ride. Athletes who are have not left are welcome at a final group dinner.
