Carmichael Training Systems partners with the BMC-Hincapie Sportswear Development Cycling Team

(February 8, 2012 – Colorado Springs, CO) – Carmichael Training Systems has partnered with the BMC-Hincapie Sportswear Development Cycling Team as the team’s Official Coaching and Sports Science Partner.

Carmichael Training Systems will be conducting lactate threshold testing on the UCI Continental Under-23 team’s riders, providing 3D bike fitting services for the team, and working with riders at select team training camps. Team riders will also have access to nutritional analysis, body composition testing, hydration analysis testing, and resting metabolic rate testing. Much of the testing will be conducted at the Carmichael Training Systems facility in Brevard, North Carolina; and all athletes on the team will have the opportunity to take advantage of world-class personal coaching services from CTS.

“I’m very proud to be working with the BMC-Hincapie Sportswear Development Team,” commented CTS Founder and CEO, Chris Carmichael. “I first coached George Hincapie when he was part of a development team with US Cycling, and I’ve always believed that supporting athletes at the beginning of their careers is important for setting them up for long-term success.”

“Chris played an important role in my development when I was a young professional, and I’m confident the riders on the BMC-Hincapie Sportswear Development Team will benefit from working with Chris and his coaches now,” commented George Hincapie, one of the most successful US professional cyclists ever.

Chris Carmichael and CTS have a long and successful history of working with up-and-coming cyclists, due in large part to Chris’s philosophy of blending physical training with experiential learning. By progressing through a progressive training program and a series of challenging experiences, young athletes steadily gain the fitness, lifestyle habits, cycling skills, and leadership qualities needed to be successful at the top level of international cycling.

The team is currently in the middle of an early-season training camp with the CTS Coaching Staff. “By working with the coaches at CTS this week we hope to lay a firm foundation for each rider's future in cycling. I know these guys have an early-season edge, and really an early-career advantage over other riders their age,” commented Chief Sports Director Thomas Craven, who also had a long and successful career as a professional cyclist.
