Coach Max Exceeded My Expectations!
I am a 78-year-old lifelong cyclist and contacted Coach Max when I registered for the Hincapie Gran Fondo in Bentonville, hoping I could increase my average and complete the 86 miles in six hours in the three months until race day.
Coach Max designed a program to ride three one-hour intense interval sessions during the week, which I performed on my indoor smart trainer. On weekends, Max assigns 2-3 hour rides with longer tempo and steady state intervals.
I finished the Gran Fondo with 86.4 miles and 6000 feet elevation gain in 5 hours 45 minutes, beating my goal by 15 minutes.
My performance and enjoyment on the bike have improved such that I am extending my contract with Max as long as I can safely manage the road and gravel rides.
Max is an experienced cyclist and professional coach who understands my issues and abilities and adjusted my program on the fly when I had an injury. He is available for phone calls and responds quickly when my Garmin data are uploaded after a session. I highly recommend Max for any cyclist who wishes to improve their enjoyment and performance on the bike.
