Ride big point-to-point miles on the most scenic roads of California’s Central Coast.

There’s no better place to ride during the fall than California’s central coast. This scenic coast ride will depart from Monterey making its way south to the Santa Ynez Valley in 3 days of riding. Each day presents new climbs to be conquered and new views to be seen. Some of the world’s best riders have raced on these challenging roads during the Amgen Tour of California making this camp extra special.

At the 3-Day Golden State Epic, you will be treated like a professional cyclist in every way: from daily massages, to professional mechanical support, to on-the-bike coaching. At this camp, we will focus on long endurance miles to keep your ride volume up as the traditional cycling season comes to a close. The camp will end with a challenging ride across the Santa Ynez Valley with our CTS office being the final destination.

Camp Itinerary

DAY 0

CHECK-IN DAY - September 30, 2020

Check-In Time: 2:00 PM

Where: Monterey

Arrival: We will provide pickups at Monterey airport, or meet at our Monterey host hotel

Dinner in downtown Monterey @ 6:30-8:30PM

DAY 1

MONTEREY TO RAGGED POINT

Mileage: 95 miles

Elevation Gain: 9,930 FT

Brief Ride Description: Today's route might be the most scenic and iconic in all of California. We depart from Monterey for an adventure down the Big Sur coastline, finishing on the cliffs above the ocean at the Ragged Point Resort. Along the way you will have the chance to ride the optional bonus climb of Nacimiento Fergusson road with amazing ocean views.

Shorter Ride Option: 80 miles, 7100 ft


DAY 2

RAGGED POINT TO PISMO BEACH

Mileage: 85 miles

Elevation Gain: 6,100 FT

Brief Ride Description: Our route today takes us farther down the central coast, with a few ventures inland to sample the climbing of San Luis Obispo county. We will tackle Santa Rosa Creek road in the first half of the ride and Prefumo Canyon at the end, before a final descent into the oceanside town of Pismo Beach.

Shorter Ride Option: 65 miles, 2500 ft


DAY 3

PISMO BEACH TO SANTA YNEZ

Mileage: 95 miles

Elevation Gain: 5,900 FT

Brief Ride Description:Our final stage takes us into the Santa Ynez Valley and to our ultimate destination at the CTS Santa Ynez Training Center. But we aren't taking the easy route, as we tackle 5 categorized climbs along the way, including ascents of Harris Grade, Drum Canyon, and Foxen Canyon.

Shorter Ride Option: 70 miles, 3700 ft
