Race: Nov. 2-5
Are you looking for that certain event that will top what you did last year? Maybe you are looking to take down another item on the CTS Epic Endurance Bucket List? Well, then you need to go to La Ruta with us! The La Ruta experience is a two‐fold package is designed to give you the knowledge, confidence, and support needed to conquer one the most challenging mountain biking event in the world. Don't just take our word for it, CTS athlete John Sagebiel says it best in his La Ruta Race Report. Looking for the content referenced in the La Ruta Bonus Feature from our Performance Series DVDs? You can find it here: http://www.trainrightblog.com/category/events/
The first component of this experience is a six-day reconnaissance camp that features four days of riding from coast to coast in Costa Rica. Athletes will be riding approximately 75% of the race course. All rides are fully supported by Lava Tours and CTS. The weather during this time of year can vary from 55‐95 degrees. Please be sure to come prepared for all weather conditions. This camp is limited to the 20 CTS Athletes participating in La Ruta.
You will be guided through the La Ruta course by CTS Coaches Adam Pulford and Jane Rynbrandt, both of whom are La Ruta veterans. Two-time US 24-Hour MTB National Champion Cameron Chambers will also be on hand to share his ultra-endurance racing experience. CTS will be partnering with local guides, translators and experts provided by Lava Tours (http://www.lava-tours.com), including 2009 La Ruta Champion and CTS Athlete Manuel Prado (he's coached by Adam Pulford): http://www.manuelmannyprado.com/.
When you return to Costa Rica in November for the race, CTS will be your comprehensive support crew! We'll take care of you from start to finish so you can focus entirely on racing. Your CTS La Ruta experience includes race entry, lodging and accommodations while in Costa Rica (for both trips). Once you and your bike are there, we’ll take care of the rest while you pedal, eat and sleep, and maybe wrestle a crocodile or two. Want more details on the race? Check out the Race Website.
