I’ve been a full time coach for 10 years, coming to CTS after finishing my Exercise Physiology master’s degree coursework at Iowa State University in 2004. I have a bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from ISU as well. In addition to coaching, I’m an avid bowler with one perfect game under my belt so far. I also enjoy all types of building and construction projects, large or small. Athletically, I grew up a competitive swimmer and runner, and transitioned to triathlons for nearly 10 years throughout college and graduate school. These days I try to stay active but diverse, participating in various road marathons, the Leadville 100 mountain bike race, ultramarathon trail races, and just about anything adventurous I can find.
I coach athletes of all ability levels to reach goals that range from finishing their first 5k to winning the Ironman World Championship. What I do best is to cultivate a relationship with athletes that makes it obvious that the successes or failures we have, we have together as a team. I have worked with athletes in all forms of endurance athletics, including short and long distance runners, road and mountain biking, time-trialists and stage racers, motorsports drivers, adventure racers, skiers, etc. I deal with the mental and physical aspects of fitness and competition, as well as equipment choices, nutrition, etc.
In my role as a CTS Coach, I’m an expert in personal coaching, training camps, private camps, LT/VO2 Testing, Bike Fit, Race Strategy, Race-day support crew, weight management, and nutrition strategy.« Back to all coaches
