Jason Simon
CTS Senior Coach
“I aim to coach athletes utilizing all the tools in our arsenal based on each athletes specific sport, strengths/weakness and exact needs. In addition, I believe in harmonizing that crucial training/life balance and looking at the whole picture to develop a plan for success.”
Coach Bio:
I am a lifelong athlete with a love for sport, competition and training. I began racing bikes at the age of 10 and continued to race full time for 17 years, 6 of those at the professional level in DH Mountain Biking. My coaching career began in Durango, CO where I received my degree in Exercise Science while racing on the FLC Cycling Team. In 2005 I enrolled in the CTS Coaching College and I’ve enjoyed helping people reach their goals as well as improve their physical and mental well-being ever since.
In addition to coaching, I am an integral part of the product development team at SRM PowerMeters; the visionaries and world leaders in cycling power measurement. This unique involvement has given me in depth, wide-ranging experience in training principles, training with power and pushing the boundaries of the tools used in coaching for the future.
I have in depth experience across a variety of disciplines including Road, Cyclocross and MTB as well as expertise in Enduro, DH, BMX and Motocross/motorsports. This extends to bike handing and technique drills, mental preparedness, race day strategy and bike/suspension setup with the use of Motion Instruments and Suss My Bike suspension data loggers, both of which are available for athlete use.
