GOLDEN STATE EPIC 2026

Day 1 - CHECK IN DAY - Sunday, April 12, 2026

Check In Time: 2:30-4:30 pm

Where: Hotel

Arrival Description: Arrival and check-in!  We’ll grab you and your gear at the Sonoma County Airport and bring you over to our host hotel to get you settled in.  A team dinner and an early bedtime tonight as the riding starts tomorrow!

Day 2 - Santa Rosa Coast Loop - Monday, April 13

Mileage: 98mi

Elevation Gain: 9,400ft

Brief Ride Description:  We begin our Golden State Epic journey riding the famed roads of Sonoma County.  The day one route takes us past redwood forests and sweeping ocean views on many of the same roads as Levis' Kings Ridge Gran Fondo as well as multiple Tour of California stages.  

Day 3 - Santa Rosa to Golden Gate Park - Tuesday, April 14

Mileage: 88mi

Elevation Gain: 6,600ft

Brief Ride Description:  On day two we ride from Santa Rosa to Golden Gate Park.  There is no shortage of scenic and challenging riding as we pedal past ocean bays near Point Reyes National Seashore, climb through the redwood slopes of Mt Tamalpais, and finish by riding across the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco.

Day 4 - Palo Alto to Santa Cruz - Wednesday, April 15

Mileage: 79mi

Elevation Gain: 8,900ft

Brief Ride Description:  Day three begins in Palo Alto and starts with a famous Bay Area climb up Old La Honda road.  The day is spent riding (and climbing) through the redwood forests between San Francisco and the beach town of Santa Cruz, including passing near Big Basin Redwoods State Park.

Day 5 - Monterey to Ragged Point - Thursday, April 16

Mileage: 88mi

Elevation Gain: 9,500ft

Brief Ride Description:  Day four’s route might be the most scenic and iconic in all of California.  We depart from Monterey for an adventure down the Big Sur coastline, finishing on the cliffs above the ocean at the Ragged Point Resort. Along the way you will have the chance to ride the optional bonus climb of Nacimiento Fergusson road with amazing ocean views. 

Day 6 - Ragged Point to Pismo Beach - Friday, April 17

Mileage: 84mi

Elevation Gain: 5,900ft

Brief Ride Description:  Departing from the cliffs of Ragged Point,  day five takes us farther down the central coast, with a few ventures inland to sample the climbing of San Luis Obispo county. We will tackle Santa Rosa Creek road in the first half of the ride and Prefumo Canyon at the end, before a final descent into the oceanside town of Pismo Beach.

Day 7 - Pismo Beach to Solvang

Mileage: 70mi

Elevation Gain: 2,500ft

Brief Ride Description: Our final stage takes us into one of our old stomping grounds; Solvang!  But we aren't taking the easy route. After leaving Pismo Beach’s sandy dunes, we’ll tackle several climbs in the Santa Ynez Valley along our way to finishing an epic week.

Day 8 - Departure

Camp Conclusion Description: Say your farewells! Time to head home and start dreaming about next year’s route for the Golden State Epic!
