FNLD GRVL VIP Race Experience 2023

Check-In Time: 12:00 pm-5:00 pm

Where: Helsinki Airport (HEL) / Hotel 

Arrival Description: Arrival and check-in!  We’ll grab you and your gear at the Helsinki Airport and bring you over to our host hotel to get you settled in. Team dinner and an early bedtime tonight as we have a transfer and a short ride tomorrow in Lathi!

Transfer to Lathi 

Day Description: Today we will transfer from our hotel in Helsinki to the Sokos Hotel in Lathi. Upon arrival, we will get settled in and then go for a short spin around town.  

Lunch: At the hotel (before our ride)

Mileage: 20 mi

Elevation Gain: 400ft

Time Range: 1-1.5hrs

Brief Ride Description:  We begin our time in Lathi riding along the lakes and amongst the trees. Post ride we will have a sauna reserved for you to catch some quick recovery before dinner!

GRAVEL ENDURANCE RIDE AND COURSE RECON 

Mileage: 50-60 miles

Elevation Gain: 400-1500 FT

Time Range: 3 - 3.5 Hours

Brief Ride Description:  We will do a long gravel ride featuring key sections from the FNLD GRVL event so that you are prepared for what’s to come. The day will provide enough miles to become familiar with the course and terrain while taking in the beauty that Finland has to offer.

GRAVEL SKILLS

Training Presentation: Pre-ride on Gravel Skills and Techniques

Mileage: 20-30 miles

Elevation Gain: 200-400 FT

Time Range: 1 - 2.5 Hours

Brief Ride Description:  We will do a short gravel ride focusing on skills and techniques needed for the FNLD GRVL event.  Following the ride, we will have lunch, a training presentation, massages, sauna sessions, and a group dinner that evening.

 VIP RIDE

Mileage: 20-30 miles

Elevation Gain: 200-400 FT

Time Range: 1 - 2.5 Hours

Brief Ride Description: Today we have a very special VIP experience lined up for you! Enjoy a morning coffee and pastry ride with Valtteri Bottas and Tiffany Cromwell. 

Lunch: At the hotel (post ride)

Sauna Visit / Massage 

Dinner: At a local restaurant 

EASY RIDE & FINAL PREP 

Mileage: 15-20miles

Elevation Gain: 100-300 FT

Time Range: 1 - 2 Hours

Brief Ride Description: After a quick morning talk reviewing the FNLD GRVL course highlights we will do a short recovery ride to loosen up before the next day’s event. Following the ride, we will have lunch, pick up our race packets, enjoy the VIP lounge in Lahti Sports Center, do some final prep for the event, and have a massage and sauna session ready to go.

FNLD GRVL EVENT

Mileage:  25-109 miles

Elevation Gain: 400 - 5000 FT

Time Range: Will vary

Brief Ride Description:  We will toe the line for the much anticipated FNLD GRVL event.  There are three distances to choose from, but with CTS support and preparation we hope you choose a challenging one. Following the event, we will have a group dinner. And prep for our transfer to Helsinki tomorrow

DEPARTURE

Camp Conclusion Description: Say your farewells! Time to head home and start dreaming about next year’s route and experience at FNLD GRVL!

We will transfer you back to Helsinki for your departing flights.
