I’ve always been drawn to challenge. I started my endurance background as a wrestler while growing up in Massachusetts. Wrestling was tough, but it was the conditioning (running in particular) that I enjoyed the most in the sport. I quickly got hooked and did my first trail race, the Muddy Moose 14 miler in New Hampshire in Spring 2006.
Shortly after, I moved to Missoula, MT, to attend The University of Montana and immerse myself in the outdoors. I earned a B.S. in Exercise Science while racing on the triathlon and cycling teams. While living in Montana, I took advantage of the endless single track and started training for my first ultra, the Tahoe Rim Trail 50 mile. The training was challenging but the simplicity of running and the ability to explore wild places has made running a huge part of my life. Since 2011 I have raced in over 34 ultra marathons including eight 100 mile events.
I continue to race ultras across the country and encourage others to explore the amazing capabilities of the human body!
If you are looking to run your first ultra or set a PR in the 5k, I am here to help you reach your maximum potential with a well-structured plan. My philosophy stems from the slight edge principle, or as Robert Collier said, “Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out.” By training consistently with focused workouts and optimal recovery, you’ll get to your full potential while staying injury free. The program will incorporate the realities of life, including work, family and travel commitments.
In addition to working with road runners, cyclist and multisport athletes, I specialize in coaching mountain ultra running and distance mountain biking events, including 100 mile and multi-day races. I enjoy helping athletes get over the mental barrier of achieving lofty goals.« Back to all coaches
