I am a lifelong athlete with a love for sport, competition and training. I began racing bikes at the age of 10 and continued to race full time for 15 years, 6 of those at the professional level in Downhill mountain biking. My coaching career began in Durango, CO where I received my degree in Exercise Science while racing on the FLC cycling team. After receiving my degree I began my internship with Carmichael Training Systems where I’ve enjoyed helping people reach their goals as well as improve their physical and mental well-being for the past 9 years.
In addition to coaching, I am manager of new product development at SRM PowerMeters; the visionaries and world leaders in cycling power measurement that helped shape training and coaching into what we know it to be today. This has given me a unique perspective on product/training design to help continually push the evolution of training to improve physical fitness, efficiency and speed for athletes of all disciplines.
I believe it is very important to coach someone as a whole person. Coaching is more than just schedule design, workouts and data analysis. It requires understanding a person, their life, goals and responsibilities in order to get the most out of their training. In addition to coaching all disciplines of cycling I have coached athletes competing in motorsports, running and even fly fishing! This diverse experience allows me to utilize many different training techniques, and along with CTS testing services (like Lactate Threshold and V02 Max testing) all the necessary tools are available to help my athletes achieve their best.
With over 20years of personal experience in all facets of cycling, with an emphasis on technical skills, nutrition/weight management, strength and conditioning and race strategy.« Back to all coaches
