I have been an endurance coach with CTS for 12 years and worked with all levels of athletes from beginner to Olympic level. My love of endurance sports began with running and quickly blossomed into mountain biking and road racing cin my teen years, growing up on Vancouver island which is home to many Olympic and professional XC and road athletes . Naturally I pursued a Masters of Exercise Science with a thesis in hormones and overtraining and I was introduced by my professor into a world of competitive powerlifting. I worked for several years in the Exercise Physiology Lab at UBC where we tested many professional teams and completed a competitive internship at the Olympic Training Center in California. I live in Comox BC a with my husband and 3 children all budding cyclists and runners. I am training for a marathon this summer.
As a coach I believe in commitment, consistency and communication. There is more to coaching an athlete than just setting up training program you have to carefully consider an athletes other commitments and lifestyle when designing an optimal training program . An athletes commitment and consistency in training and the ongoing communication between athlete and coach is critical to success. My strong background in exercise physiology, nutrition, high performance testing and strength training allow me to integrate all aspects of high performance into preparing you for your goals. I have experience coaching junior to Masters level athletes and beginners to elite Olympic level competitors.
