Tristan Cowie
CTS Pro Coach – Specializes in Cycling Coaching
“Life is never planned so being flexible and rolling with the punches while still staying on track is key. Although events and races are important and a great measuring stick, I would rather empathize the journey it takes to get there. I want my athletes to develop good habits and become healthy, continually improving individuals, instead of solely focused on one goal. Enjoying the process is the most important.”
Coach Bio:
Growing up in the mountains of North Georgia, I competed in cross country and track while racing several seasons of mountain bikes. From competing locally, to regionally, to across the country and world, I was selected to represent the US at the World Mountain Bike Championships as a junior. During my years at Brevard College, I spent a few summers living and racing World Cups and national races in Germany and Switzerland.
After finishing my undergraduate, I was hired by CTS in the fall of 2011. It was a dream opportunity to share my knowledge and experience and help develop all types of cyclists and endurance athletes.
I have continued to compete most recently in cyclocross. After spending a few years on the national circuit, I was selected to the National Team for the World Cyclocross Championships, this time as an elite rider, ten years after my first trip.
My favorite part of coaching is helping someone enjoy and understand the process. In order to accomplish your goals there are times where the training is tedious or the conditions are not conducive to “fun” rides. To help someone grow and stay motivated through that process and then follow through to the end result is where I find satisfaction.
