Our Popular Spring Training Camp Condensed To Fit Your Busy Lifestyle!

Continuing the long tradition of Spring Training Camps in the Santa Ynez Valley, join CTS for a three-and-a-half day cycling camp based out of our regional training center in Santa Ynez, CA.  This long weekend of riding is designed to jump-start your cycling season, with longer endurance miles, as well as, working on refining your group riding, climbing, and descending skills.

Rides carry you through some of the Santa Ynez Valley’s finest roads, described by Chris Carmichael as “spectacular” and “some of the best riding in North America.” You will pass through rolling terrain, along streams, through vineyards and horse farms, and conclude the weekend with the challenging 10 mile climb up Figueroa Mountain.

Camp Itinerary

DAY 1

CHECK-IN DAY

Where: CTS Santa Ynez Training Center

Check-in Time: 2:00-5:00PM

Arrival: After dropping off your bike and a brief check-in process, you’ll join the CTS coaching staff and fellow riders for a gourmet dinner and a preview of the week ahead. If you’d like to add any lab testing or a bike fit to your camp, it’s best to arrive before 2 pm on this day.

Dinner: TRATTORIA GRAPPOLO @ 6:00-7:30PM

DAY 2

CTS FIELD TEST/BIKE SKILLS OR ALUMNI RIDE

Mileage: 25- 60
Elevation Gain: 2000-4000 FT
Ride Time: 3 – 3.5 Hours

Description: New camp athletes will complete the CTS Field Test and a bike skills session before concluding the day with some endurance riding.  Our camp alumni will complete the Drum Canyon Loop with a Field Test of their own.

Lunch: PANINO @ 12:30-2:00PM

DAY 3

MANNY’S RIDE (JALAMA BEACH)

Mileage: 42-84
Elevation Gain: 3000-6000 FT
Ride Time: 3.5 – 5.5 Hours

Description: A long endurance paced ride that takes us to scenic Jalama Beach.  Expect quite country roads that include a surprising amount of climbing and some technical descending.

Lunch: CTS @ 1:30-2:30PM
Dinner: THE RED BARN @ 6:00-8:00PM

DAY 4

FIGUEROA MOUNTAIN

Mileage: 42-60
Elevation Gain: 4500 – 5500 FT
Ride Time: 4 – 5 Hours

Description: The Fig Loop is never easy! It’s a challenging mountain ascent that climbs for nearly 10 miles and 3500 ft. The scenery is spectacular along the climb and the descent is beautiful and challenging.

Lunch: CTS @ 1:30-2:30PM

Camp Conclusion: This Cycling Camp concludes after a group lunch in Santa Ynez, following the ride up Figueroa Mountain.  You’ll have the chance to review the ride data with a CTS Coach before we pack your bike and say farewell.

A non-refundable $350.00 deposit is due at time of registration.

The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the camp and will be billed automatically. The credit card information used for your deposit will be billed unless otherwise arranged with the CTS accounting department.

Airports: Santa Barbara is approximately 35 minutes from Santa Ynez. LAX is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes from Santa Ynez (allow more time during high traffic periods).

If you are shipping your bike, please make sure it arrives at CTS by April 4th, 2018 so we can have it built and prepped in time for camp.

After you sign up, please let the camp manager know if you would like us to pack your bike for shipping at the conclusion of the camp, we will do it free of charge.
