Back-To-Back-To-Back Long Training Days in the Beautiful Santa Ynez Valley

If you’ve signed up for an epic cycling event in 2021, you better show up prepared. This training camp is designed to stretch your limits; it’s a three day road cycling training block that will push your fitness to a new level.  Whether you’re targeting a multi-day event or a 1-day challenge like the Dirty Kanza 200, this camp is your opportunity to put the necessary miles in your legs.

You can’t hide poor fitness on multi-day rides or even huge 1-day events.  And poor group riding skills and bike handling will compound any weaknesses.  Improve your fitness and your skills with 3 long days of riding under the guidance of CTS coaches.  The beautiful and challenging roads of the Santa Ynez Valley will test the fitness of any cyclist.  And our professional coaches provide feedback and instruction to improve skills and hone performance.  Fully supported rides, professional mechanics and daily power file analysis complete the experience at our Epic Endurance Training Camp.

Camp Itinerary

DAY 1

CHECK-IN DAY – 4/7/2021

Check In Day – Arrive at our Camp Center,, meet and greet the coaches, mechanics and other athletes as you settle into the quaint cycling crazy town of Solvang.

DAY 2

Drum / Mt Fig – 98 miles – 8,816 ft –  We don’t ease into this camp!  We roll right to the steep and technical Drum Canyon, then roll up and down all day till we hit the historic Mt Figueroa climb.  That’s 9 miles at 7% grade, and we hit it around mile 80!  Welcome to the Epic Endurance Camp!

DAY 3

Mig / Manny’s Ride – 104 miles – 8,104 ft – Manny’s ride is a staple in many of our camps here, but here’s a new twist to an old favorite.  We head out the rolling farm road of Santa Rosa Road, then head to Lompoc and climb up the hidden Miguleto Canyon.  This ends at the Air Force base with amazing views of the beach way below.  THEN we roll to the challenging Jalama Road where we head to the beach, then return to the Santa Ynez Valley the hard way.  On US 1.

DAY 4

Tepesquet / Cat Canyon – 100 miles – 7,486 ft –  Our last ride doesn’t disappoint!  We head out Foxen Canyon for a bit of punchy climbs then a nice long fast roll into our big climb of the day.  Tepesquet Canyon is a beautiful shaded climb featured in the Tour of California In years past.  (Chris Carmichael had a famous attack here one year during one of our Tour of California camps, ask us for the story).  Then we head to the steep and hot Cat Canyon for a really hard but short climb before returning back to our home base in Solvang.  It’s an Epic Camp for sure.
