Learn Essential Road Riding Skills in a Iconic Cycling Destination

Cycling Skills and Training 101 camps are perfect for cyclists looking to improve climbing and descending performance, and who are also looking to learn essential road cycling skills, like riding close to other cyclists, basic drafting, eating and drinking on the move, etc. This is a great camp for riders who find climbing, descending, and/or riding in a group intimidating.

This camp is designed for beginner and intermediate road cyclists who want to get better at riding, learn about training, and those who simply want to get in a good 3-day training block. Each day will include 3-4 hours of riding, and we’ll complement the work we do on the bike with coach-led training presentations on sports nutrition, training with power, and other topics. You will also sit down individually with a coach for one-on-one power file data analysis after every ride. All camp rides feature full mechanic and nutrition support and a high coach-athlete ratio.

Mileage: 15 – 45
Elevation Gain: 1000-2500 FT
Ride Time: 4 – 5 Hours Total Over 2 Sessions

Description: Day 2 of camp is about riding with others and taking care of yourself! First off we will have a morning discussion about the benefits of riding in a group . Next our morning ride will take us from that discussion and into the practical aspects of groups and the dynamics within. Riders will learn how to safely ride in a group, how to learn to read the dynamics of the group, and feel at ease riding next to and near others. Thus avoiding the dreaded hugging the yellow line effect that comes when riders are not comfortably near others. Our mid day break will include lunch and a chat on hydration and fueling to improve your cycling pleasure and performance. Our second ride of the day is a recovery ride. While this seems obvious in its execution very few riders actually do this type of ride correctly. This ride will help you understand the benefits of a recovery ride and how to best complete one!
