Fine tune your fitness and equipment with our professional CTS coaches at our gravel training camp before attempting your target mixed terrain event.

Front range views with mixed terrain riding. We have incredible rides planned for you during this four day camp.

If you’ve signed up for an cycling event in 2019, you better show up prepared! This training camp is designed to stretch your limits; it’s a four-day road cycling training block that will push your skills and fitness to a new level.  Whether you’re targeting an extreme event like the Dirty Kanza 200 or a Gran Fondo, this camp is your opportunity to put the necessary miles in your legs. From those attempting a CTS Bucket List Event to those completing their first Fondo, this is a great training experience for any cyclist.  

You’ll be grinning ear-to-ear on every ride!  During and after each ride our professional coaches will provide feedback and instruction to improve your skills and hone your performance. You will leave camp having learned tips and advice you can apply to the rest of your season. As with all CTS camps, we’ll provide fully supported rides, professional mechanics, and daily ride file analysis to complete the experience.

Camp Itinerary

DAY 0

CHECK-IN DAY – 5/14/2019

Where: CTS Colorado Springs Training Center

Check-in Time: 5:00-6:00PM

Arrival: After dropping off your bike and a brief check-in process, you’ll join the CTS coaching staff and fellow riders for a group dinner and a preview of the days ahead.

Dinner at PHANTOM CANYON BREWERY @ 7:00-8:00PM

DAY 1

HANOVER LOOP

Mileage: 45-80

Elevation Gain: 2000-3500 FT

Time Range: 3 – 4.5 Hours

Brief Ride Description:  On our first day of camp we will be riding a CTS favorite. After getting out of town, the Hanover Loop features rolling hills and quite roads. When Chris calls a “Coaches Meeting” this is where you’ll find us. Today provides a chance for you to shake the travel out of your legs with pack riding friendly terrain.

DAY 2

TOUR OF COLORADO’S GOLD BELT

Mileage: 60-85

Elevation Gain: 6000-9100 FT

Time Range: 4 – 6 Hours

Brief Ride Description:  This will be a truly epic day of cycling through Colorado’s “Gold Belt”.  We’ll start the day with rolling terrain before climbing towards the mining towns of Victor and Cripple Creek.  This route follows southern Colorado’s Scenic Byway along infamous stage coach routes used during the Colorado Gold Rush.

DAY 3

BLACK FOREST FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS

Mileage: 45-80

Elevation Gain: 2000-3500 FT

Time Range: 3 – 4.5 Hours

Brief Ride Description:  With rolling hills and endless roads the Black Forest is sure to test your legs and build your fitness. During your ride our coaches will work to ensure that you are ready for your target event with the skills and strategies you need to succeed at your target event.

DAY 4

PLATTE RIVER LOOP

Mileage: 40-60

Elevation Gain: 2700-5500 FT

Time Range: 2.5 – 4.5 Hours

Brief Ride Description:  Today you will be riding through some hidden gems of the Front Range of Colorado.  We’ll starting near Deckers, Colorado and follow the South Platte toward Buffalo Creek and Pine.  We will loop through Conifer and come back through Foxton Canyon while the beautiful scenery continues along the Platte River.

If you are shipping your bike, please make sure it arrives at CTS by 5/10/2019 so we can have it built and prepped in time for camp.
