MAY 2026 - Cory Bruno Appointed CEO of Carmichael Training Systems
Cory Bruno’s path to leading CTS began long before he officially joined the company. As an aspiring coach, he entered the rigorous CTS Coaching College, an intensive education and evaluation process led by the organization’s top coaches. The experience left a lasting impression: a deep respect for CTS’s professionalism and a clear understanding of where his own strengths could make the greatest impact.
He went on to build those strengths at a San Diego–based technology company and business incubator, where he developed expertise in marketing, content strategy, and user experience. When he joined CTS as Marketing Manager in 2016, Cory brought a unique combination of athlete insight and digital acumen that would shape the company’s future.
Over the past decade, Cory has played a central role in CTS’s growth, consistently keeping athletes at the heart of every initiative. He built and scaled the company’s marketing programs, infrastructure, and digital experiences, expanding CTS’s reach while elevating the quality of every athlete touchpoint. He also championed the growth of CTS Ultrarunning, helping transform it into one of the company’s most dynamic and fast-growing segments.
— An Athlete, Always
An accomplished cyclist and trail runner, Cory is deeply embedded in the endurance community CTS serves. He raced as a Category 1 cyclist with the Swamis–Spy Optics Development Team and SoCalCycling.com, and has completed iconic ultrarunning routes including the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim, the Timberline Trail, Zion Traverse, among others. This firsthand perspective continues to inform his approach to leadership and innovation at CTS.
Now stepping into the role of CEO, Cory brings a vision grounded in both experience and purpose. He holds a BA in Media Studies and has completed the Wharton Business Foundations Specialization.
CTS has always been about helping athletes progress and achieve their goals,” Bruno says. “As the coaching landscape evolves and new technology emerges, we have an opportunity to reach more athletes, support our coaches more effectively, and continue raising the standard for what professional coaching can be. Our focus is on building a sustainable model that delivers real value—both to the athletes we serve and the coaches who make that possible.”
