REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 2017 CTS FIGUEROA MOUNTAIN GRAN FONDO

(March 1, 2017 – Colorado Springs, CO) Cyclists can now register for the CTS Figueroa Mountain Gran Fondo, presented by Figueroa Mountain Brewing. The event, scheduled for November 11, 2017 in Santa Ynez, California, features the first ascent of Figueroa Mountain in a timed, mass start event.

Earlybird registration ranges from $65-$100. Athletes must register before June 1, 2017 to take advantage of this earlybird price. Shareable registration link: http://trainright.com/figmtnfondo.

The full Gran Fondo route (Fig Epic) covers 96 miles and features 8800 feet of climbing, while a shorter Medio Fondo route (Fig Loop) will cover 44 miles and 5200 feet of climbing. Both routes will tackle the ascent of Figueroa Mountain, which gains 4000 feet in elevation over 9.6 miles. There will also be a family-friendly Piccolo Fondo route (Valley Ride) of about 31 miles through the Valley’s rolling hills. See Routes.

At the end of their rides, Figueroa Mountain Gran Fondo participants will be welcomed back to Santa Ynez with incredible food and beer from presenting sponsor, Figueroa Mountain Brewing. They will also enjoy an expo area packed with booths from local Santa Ynez Valley businesses and major outdoor and cycling brands.

To help prepare cyclists for this challenging event, the professional coaches at CTS will include pre-event training for all registered riders. Athletes who want to make the most out of their visit to the Santa Ynez Valley can sign up for an all-inclusive 5-day cycling camp that culminates with the gran fondo and includes an event entry and preferred starting position.
