Triathlon Icon CTS coaching methodology has propelled athletes to age group and elite victories at Ironman and Xterra World Championships, as well as sprint and Olympic distance triathlons around the world.

The secret to our winning formula is recognizing that triathlon is more complex than other endurance sports and that preparing across three disciplines leads to unique training and time-management challenges.

At CTS, we've applied Chris Carmichael's commitment to eliminating wasted efforts to triathlon and done away with "garbage yardage" in the pool and excessively long workouts on the bike and trail. Optimal performance is all about time, and by getting right to the point within every training session. Recreational triathlon is not a contradiction in terms, but rather an understanding that life isn't always about competition. There are so many great reasons to get involved in triathlon, from camaraderie and fitness to raising money and awareness for important charities. You don't have to own a wetsuit, clipless pedals, aerobars, or a fuel belt (or even know what they are) to benefit from coaching. We're here to help you develop fitness and master basic swimming, cycling, and running techniques necessary for having a successful and enjoyable experience in your next triathlon.

For some people sprint-distance races are a perfect introduction to the sport of triathlon, and for seasoned competitors, they can be the most intense of all the triathlon distances. Sprint-distance races aren't just shortened versions of long-course events, so whether you're just starting out or looking to set a personal best, we prepare sprint-distance athletes for the unique demands of these quick, high-intensity races. We'll teach you the tricks and techniques to exit the water faster and fresher, shave minutes off your bike and run legs, and breeze through the transitions.

Triathlon Icon Olympic Distance
The deceptively difficult aspect of Olympic-distance triathlon is the need for both endurance and speed. Where the sprint-distance competitor needs more speed and the Ironman competitor relies primarily on endurance, an Olympic-distance competitor needs both to be successful. Triathlon Icon Half Ironman
Making the leap to the half-Ironman distance pushes triathletes beyond the point where simply adding training hours produces better results. For success at this advanced distance, it's absolutely essential to train smarter instead of harder. Coaching for half-Ironman competitors includes a heavy focus on time management, recovery, and during- and post-event nutrition and hydration strategies.

Triathletes have no qualms about pushing their bodies to the limit, and many are far too willing to push themselves over it. In addition to fitness, success in your chosen Ironman event requires commitment, great time management skills, and a strong social support system.
