I decided to pursue training and education as a coach because:
I was tired of wondering what would be best for me as an athlete and wanted to help others answer the same question.
I decided to join CTS because:
It has always been a dream of mine to work with athletes in the field of endurance sports - and no one does it better than CTS.
I like coaching for CTS because:
I get to work side by side with the best coaches in the world.
My most rewarding coaching experience:
Helping to build Appalachian State’s Cycling Team from a few recreational riders to a nationally renowned three time Collegiate National Champion.
The best thing about being a coach is:
Sharing my passion for endurance sports with others through the realization of their potential.
My coaching philosophy is:
Work hard, rest well and repeat.
My coaching goals:
Helping athletes enjoy their sport and make the most of their time.

When I started cycling and what got me started:
Started mountain biking at 10 years old when the local bike shop would take kids mountain biking on Saturdays.
What I like best about cycling:
Health, competition, suffering and fun all in one!
What I would have done differently in my competitive days if I knew what I know now:
Gotten a coach sooner
What I would not change:
Time spent devoted to the sport.
Activities I do for fun and exercise:
Cycling, running, swimming, fly fishing and backpacking.
Pet peeves:
People who convince themselves they can’t rather than trying.
When I’m not coaching or training I like to:
Rest.
The people I most admire in the world are:
My parents.
The best advice I ever got from them was:
Think before you act.
