Coaching Background
I decided to pursue training and education as a coach because:
Coaching is the best way for me to apply and share my knowledge of exercise physiology and sport. It’s an ideal avenue to travel to new places, meet new people, and challenge myself and others on a daily basis. The reward of helping an athlete reach a goal is like nothing else I’ve ever experienced.
I decided to join CTS because:
CTS is simply the best! As the leader of the industry I wanted to be part of the elite team of coaches who sets the bar for coaching quality and standards.
What I liked best about the CTS coaching residency program:
The continuing education curriculum and networking with other coaches.
The greatest lesson I learned during the CTS coaching residency program:
The importance and effectiveness of using power as a training tool for cyclists.
I like coaching for CTS because:
I have a flexible schedule and get to correspond with enthusiastic and motivated athletes from all over the world each day.
My most rewarding coaching experience:
Too many to list but nearly each week someone experiences a new high, a personal best, or overcomes a challenge they thought was not possible. Additionally it is always rewarding to meet athletes at their goal events and watch them succeed.
The best thing about being a coach is:
Receiving a phone call about a successful day of training or positive race result!
My coaching philosophy is:
Train slow so you can train fast plus a dose of patience, dedication, & trust.
Coaching accomplishments:
I have guided many athletes in a variety of sports to top finishes, personal records, and beyond what they thought they were capable of achieving.
My coaching goals:
To give each athlete the guidance, support, and knowledge needed to achieve their respective goals and to do it by developing a training strategy that accommodates their lifestyle.
My proudest moment as a coach:
2007 Outdoor Track & Cross Country Season with the Harrisburg Cougars
My worst coaching experience:
An athlete who had given up, lost his internal drive, despite a 110% effort on my part
My most embarrassing coaching experience:
Nothing so far……..

Dedication to my athletes. I take each athlete’s goal and make it my own.
