Seeing Andy and Cara, his wife, win National Championships and set Leadville 100 records on their tandem has been an inspiration and a great source of pride for us all here at Carmichael Training Systems. 	Experience that cemented your passion for Endurance Sports: My first xc mountain bike race was in 1993. I finished mid pack as a beginner, but the experience was so great I was instantly obsessed.
	Areas of special interest or specialization as a coach: Bike fitting, time trialing, any “ultra-endurance” type event preparation
	How would you describe your personality or style as a coach? Laid back but intense.
	What can an athlete expect from you as their coach? Well crafted, specific training leading to goal events. Other life obligations are always accounted for. Very accessable.

	What do you like most about competing? Pushing myself to the limit… seeing how much I can get out of myself
	Sport you would like to get involved with in the future: I hope to get more into ultra running in the upcoming seasons, running a 100 miler is a big goal
	What is your favorite competition you have ever done? The first national championship tandem road race I won with my wife. I had won a few championships already, but that one was special because we did it together.

	What is your worst athletic experience and what did you learn from it? Having my time trial bike stolen just hours before my start time at the master's world championships in Austria.
	How do you motivate yourself prior to competition? Stay calm and relaxed
	What do you like to do when not training or coaching? read, work on the house, or watch a good movie
	What is your favorite book? Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo or F. Scott Fitzgerald's Tender is the Night
	What is your favorite food? Chicken Burritos
	What is your go-to recovery meal? Burritos!
	If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Southern France to ride in the Pyrenees.
	Something about you people would not guess: For a time I was the highest paid bike messenger in Philadelphia (1993-94).
	Can you ride a mean wheelie? Absolutely not :)
