Stay tuned to this page during the 2012 Amgen Tour of California to view daily video updates from Team CTS!
The CTS ATOC Race Experience one of the select events on the 2012 Epic Endurance Bucket List. From start to finish, Chris Carmichael and CTS Coaches will lead a team of amateur cyclists as they ride every stage of the 2012 Amgen Tour of California. But this isn’t just some "wine-and-cheese" tour. Each morning, Team CTS will start the stage with a headstart on the pro peloton and ride as a cohesive unit as they attempt to reach the finish line before being caught by the pros. The pressure is on, all day long!
Throughout the stage and between stages, however, riders benefit from comprehensive VIP Access and pro-level amenities. Our team will stay in the same hotels as the pro teams and eat their meals with the pro teams. Their bikes will be cared for by professional mechanics and riders will receive post-stage massage therapy from professional soigneurs. To complete the "pro-treatment", they will even be required to pack their belongings for the week in one team-issued piece of luggage!
This Race Experience, and the USA Pro Challenge and Tour of Utah Race Experiences, are as close as most cyclists will ever get to being a professional bike racer. Our riders will feel the pressure of being chased all day long, experience the daily transfers and other challenges that pros face, and also benefit from amenities that amateur racers can only dream of. For the serious cycling fan, these Race Experiences are the best way to gain a unique insight into the lifestyle and demands of a professional cyclist.
