I have been a coach at CTS since 2007, but I have been an endurance athlete since 1998 when I started running for my high school cross country team. I also played soccer and competed in road races between 5k and half-marathon distances all during high school. During college, where I obtained my BS in Physical Education and a MS in Exercise Science, I began cycling and competed in duathlons, road racing, and other endurance cycling events. A knee injury forced me to give up running in the mid-2000s, but I have remained an active rider and competitor. I also have been lucky enough to work with Austin Peay State University over the past several years as an adjunct faculty member and assist the athletics program with strength training, athletic assessments and testing, nutrition, and game day preparation with the volleyball, soccer, softball, basketball, and cross country teams among others.
I believe in being a well balanced individual and that is reflected in my coaching. For the vast majority of people we are never going to make a living riding our bikes or running. (don’t we dream we could!) We all have work, family, and other responsibilities to fit into our lives and that is important to keep in mind when coaching an individual and building a plan for success. I enjoy working with folks in all areas of sports from road cycling, mountain biking, running, triathlon, as well training in a variety of other sports. Using my knowledge of exercise science combined with a healthy lifestyle balance and real world experience I enjoy helping athletes achieve their goals.
In my role as a CTS Coach, I’m an expert in personal coaching, training camps, private camps, LT/VO2 Testing, Bike Fit, Race Strategy, Race-day support crew, weight management, and nutrition strategy. I enjoy working with the busiest of athletes fitting a healthy lifestyle and athletic goals into their lives.« Back to all coaches
