I have been a full-time coach since 1997, working initially with collegiate and international level swimmers. I have coached over 30 NCAA All-Americans and 2 Team USA Olympic Gold Medalists. I began working with CTS in July ’13 and have had a passion for endurance sports my whole life. As an athlete, I was an NCAA All-American swimmer and, more recently, have competed in more than 20 ultra-running events including a 2nd place overall finish at the HURT 100 Mile Trail Run in 2008. I’ve lived in Tucson for 10 years total and have been lucky enough to have explored much of the amazing wilderness surrounding this awesome area.
I am involved in as many aspects of CTS Tucson as possible: training camps, Triathlon School, lab testing, and of course coaching my CTS athletes. I believe in striking the best balance possible for my athletes between personal, professional and athletic life, which allows them to reach their goals while maintaining a healthy home life. But that doesn’t mean I don’t challenge and push them!
I currently work with triathletes, road cyclists, mountain bikers, marathon runners, ultra-runners, and multi-day through hikers. Anything that requires going hard and for a long time I love. It takes a determined person to compete in these events and those are people I can relate to.« Back to all coaches
