Dave McIntosh

About Me

I have a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Sioux Falls, and  I’ve been a full time coach with Carmichael Training Systems since 2002. I’ve been racing bicycles for nearly three decades!  I am a 26 time Colorado State Track Cycling Champion, in both Elite and Masters and have numerous top 5 placings at the Elite and Masters National Track Championships.  I’ve had the good fortune to have traveled to Rwanda, Africa to work with their national team in preparation for the 2012 Tour of Rwanda, with great success, as well as filling the role of Director Sportif for the Canadian Quebecor/Garneau team during the 2012 Tour of Rwanda.  When I’m not on my bike, I enjoy spending  time with my teenage daughter doing the activities she enjoys!

I pride myself in quick and thoughtful responses.  As much as we look for success on the bike, I feel that good customer service is equally important, and that means quick turnaround on questions asked of me.  It is my opinion that absolutely everyone can benefit from coaching.  There is so much that goes into being a “well rounded person” and I strive to bring that to the forefront through endurance training.  If an athlete can learn to overcome hardships experienced on the road or the trail, then perhaps those lessons learned can transcend to other avenues of that athletes life.

As a CTS coach, I am an expert in power file analysis, coaching road, track and mountain bike athletes, training camps, private camps as well as nutritional direction and weight management.  I’ve often used video of my own to emphasize a point, whether that is a “how to” on a certain on-the-bike workout, or utilizing my own race footage to demonstrate positioning, cornering, etc.
