Camp Description

This camp is available exclusively for CTS-Coached Athletes. Leadville 100 entries are only available through the Leadville Race Series. CTS will not be supplying race entries in 2014.

Looking to ride your fastest‐ever Leadville 100, or wondering what you got yourself into if it’s your first time? Then what better place to join your friends, and make new ones, than on the Leadville course in the shadow of Mounts Elbert and Massive? Come ride with CTS Coaches and learn the riding skills needed to be confident, powerful, and successful in Leadville come August. Pre‐ride the crucial parts of the course and learn strategies to get you through the race and through unanticipated obstacles.

CTS will also support you during the LT100 Mountain Bike race at the Pipeline and Twin Lakes aid stations. We will have our coaches and professional support staff on course to ensure that you aer set up for success out on the course.

This is an intensive race‐specific camp that will challenge your skills and fitness. Expect to spend at least 4 hours per day on the bike. This camp is best suited for intermediate and advanced mountain bikers, and anyone planning on competing in the LT100 Mountain Bike Race. We recommend that your bicycle be equipped with a 12‐32 or 12‐ 34 rear cassette or appropriate singlespeed gearing (gear ratio or 1.8:1 or less) for this camp.

Leadville, CO

Sitting at 10,200 feet above sea level, Leadville is an old mining town straight out of the Wild West. It’s seen booms and busts from the mining industry, and over the past few decades it’s evolved into a mecca for endurance athletes. The hometown of the Leadville Race Series, which includes the Leadville 100 MTB and Run events as well as their shorter sister events, this is a hardscrabble town that rewards and respects toughness and fortitude. It also boasts spectacular views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains, cool crisp evenings even in the middle of summer, and miles of incredible trails.
