Discover Tuscany during this unique cycling experience with Coach Jane Marshall

Tuscany is a magical place to discover on a bicycle. From the iconic white roads to old world towns and some of the best food and wine you’ll ever taste, this is a trip every cyclist should take at some point in your life.

And because we know food, wine, and espresso taste best following a good ride, we’re going to do 2-4 hilly hours each day. It’s going to be a good week of training combined with time for rest, relaxation and sight-seeing. To top off a great week we’ll ride the Gran Fondo Strade Biache, and the next day visit (or ride to) the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

We will be staying on the grounds of Castello di Meleto in the countryside of the Chianti region of Tuscany, Italy. After morning training sessions we will spend the afternoons doing a private cooking class, touring a traditional wineries, and visiting historical Siena.

On Saturday we’ll enjoy VIP viewing of the Pro’s racing the Strade Biache and the following day we will line up and compete in the Gran Fondo Strade Biache 124km (75 miles). We will have top level support on every training ride and the Gran Fondo including mechanic service and sag support.

This week-long camp welcomes beginner to advanced riders looking for a great training block in Europe and professional instruction. Due to the demanding nature of the routes, we highly recommend that your bicycle be equipped with a 12-28 cassette, and/or a compact crankset.

tuscany-dinner Unforgettable Local Food and Wine

There’s no better place to work up an appetite. After riding through vineyards and olive groves during the day, we’ll sit down to fabulous dinners where the food and the wine are only superseded by the warmth and passion of the people preparing them. All of your meals are included during this camp.

Quiet roads through Tuscan countryside and towns

In addition to the famous white gravel roads of Tuscany, Coach Jane has put together some of the most beautiful routes through the hills, vineyards, olive groves, and picturesque towns of the region. Athletes who come to CTS Camps really like to ride their bikes, so we feature longer routes and sometimes more challenging routes than other “wine and cheese cycling camps”. We take time to see the view; we’re not racing or setting PRs out there, so we can accommodate a wide range of fitness levels and make sure everyone has a great ride. And with full nutritional and mechanical support and Coach Jane on the road with you, all you have to focus on is road ahead.

Coach Jane Marshall

Coach Jane is the embodiment of graceful toughness. One one hand she’s a tremendously strong rider and fierce competitor who has raced Trans Portugal, La Ruta de los Conquistadores, and The Leadville 100. She’s also a tremendous coach who has worked with CTS Athletes for more than a decade and organized and led camps on three continents. Above all, she is supportive and positive and almost always smiling, especially when the pace gets hard or you’re having a tough day. When you travel to a totally new environment to ride your bike, you want to go with a professional like Coach Jane whose priority is making sure you have the experience of a lifetime.
