This Camp is a must add to your 2017 schedule. CTS and Rebecca Rusch have teamed up to you bring you the first ever Gravel Stage Race at Rebecca’s Private Idaho!

This Camp features two days of gravel racing before the main event of RPI w/ 100 grueling miles through the mountains of Idaho. We will be based at the new Limelight hotel in Ketchum, ID, where you’ll enjoy delicious post-race meals while taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain peaks.

This camp will include two days of racing prior to RPI main event. Each day will be 40-50 miles including Harriman Trail Ride and a Hill Climb Time Trail up Dollar Hide Summit Hill.

Rebecca’s Private Idaho is your ticket to the wild, rugged Idaho that few people know. Ride 100 miles with mountain bike endurance champion Rebecca Rusch on grueling gravel roads, through canyons, over summits, and across high mountain basins. When you’re done, expect a healthy dose of western hospitality and the good feeling that comes from supporting charities like the Wood River Bike Coalition, Bikes Belong, and World Bicycle Relief.

Camp Itinerary

  • Day 1 – Check-In

    This arrival and check in day at the beautiful Limelight hotel in Ketchum, Idaho. After dropping off your bike and a brief check-in process, you’ll join the CTS coaching staff and fellow riders for a gourmet dinner and a preview of the week ahead.

  • Day 2

    Stage 1, Harriman Trail Ride, 52 miles of challenging gravel. Upon the completion of the stage we will return to the hotel for lunch and a coaching talk in the afternoon. Dinner on you own, go explore Ketchum!

  • Day 3

    Stage 2 of the gravel stage race, today will be a Hill Climb Time Trail up Dollar Hide Climb. We will ride as a group to the start, race to the summit and ride back to Ketchum. 40.5 miles total. We will have lunch back at the hotel. After some downtime and relaxation we will head to Zenergy Gym for an afternoon Yoga session. Friday night will be RPI VIP Party.

  • Day 4

    Stage 3 is an easy spin day with a group ride to Corral Creek to rest the legs up for the main event on Sunday. You will have free time for lunch to explore town and the festivities. We will reconvene for dinner as a group and go over final strategy for Sunday’s ride.

  • Day 5

    Stage 4: 8 am main event start for RPI, 94 miles and 6500 feet of elevation gain lay between you and the “Off the Wagon” celebration at the finish line. After the race and post-race celebration we will have a final group dinner.

REGISTRATION/CANCELLATIONS

A non-refundable $750.00 deposit is due at time of registration. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the camp and will be billed automatically. The credit card information used for your deposit will be billed unless otherwise arranged with the CTS accounting department.

Items to pack for any of our cycling camps:

  • Bicycle: Clean, tuned and ready to ride
  • Gearing: Your bike should have a 12-27 cassette and/or a compact crankset.
  • Helmet
  • Jerseys: at least 4 (short and or long sleeve)
  • Shorts: at least 4 pair
  • Wind Vest
  • Baselayer : 1 or 2 lightweight
  • Rain Jacket
  • Arm Warmers
  • Socks
  • Cycling gloves: short finger
  • Cycling Shoes/pedals (carry these with you if traveling by plane)
  • Eyewear/sunglasses
  • Chamois cream
  • Small tote or backpack for anything you wish to keep in support vehicles.
  • Heart Rate Monitor and/or Power Meter (Power Tap or SRM or other)
  • Sunscreen
  • Toiletries for clean up between rides.

Items to add just in case

  • Light jacket
  • Medium weight jacket
  • Long sleeve and/or thermal jersey
  • Long finger gloves
  • Shoe covers/booties
  • Leg or knee warmers or light tights

Other items to consider:

  • 12-27 or 12-25 cassette – If you are not accustomed to climbing, are a beginner cyclists or are attending a climbing camp.
  • Bottles/mix/food – if you will be arriving before a camp begins or remaining afterward, and wish to ride, please bring what food/drink supplies you will need for your riding.

We will have sport drinks, food, spare tubes/tires, etc in our follow vehicles.  Each day we will prepare waterbottles for your bike using Bonk Breaker Nutrition and will provide you with sports nutrition products for use during the camp.
