Join Olympian, Leadville Winner, and National Champion Todd Wells for a MTB Training Camp

The CTS Mountain Bike Spring Training Camp will span 5 days and 4 great rides, including on the bike coaching, and informative presentations. The days will be filled with riding some of the best trails in the Arizona desert led by Todd and our CTS Coaches.

The coaches are not just there to simply guide you along the trail, but also help with technique and skill to help enhance your enjoyment of riding on the trails. There will also be presentations and training talks to help your understanding of nutrition, training, and bike handling skills. We will have mechanics washing and prepping the bikes for each ride, and like all of our camps, we will provide nutrition and hydration products to keep you topped up with fuel for the day.

Whether you are preparing for Cape Epic or your local XC racing scene, this camp will start your season off right.

Camp Itinerary

DAY 1

CHECK-IN DAY

Where: CTS Tucson Office 7000 E. Tanque Verde, Suite 10, Tucson, AZ

Check-in Time: 4:00-5:00PM

Arrival: After dropping off your bike and completing a brief check-in process, you’ll join Todd and the CTS coaching staff as well as your fellow athletes for introductions, a gourmet dinner, and a preview of the week ahead.

Breakfast: ON YOUR OWN @ 6:00-8:00AM
Lunch: ON YOUR OWN @ 12:30-1:30PM

DAY 2

ARIZONA TRAIL

Mileage: 25- 50
Elevation Gain: 2600-5200 FT
Ride Time: 3 – 4.5 Hours

Description: Stretching nearly the entire length of the state, the Arizona Trail is a can’t miss feature of the trail network in Tucson. With a variety of terrain we will work on several different skills throughout our ride. With CTS coaches riding with each group, you are certain to find new skills as you fly along the Arizona Trail.

DAY 3

STARR PASS, ROBLES, AND SWEETWATER TRAILS

Mileage: 25-50
Elevation: 2600 FT
Ride Time: 3 – 4.5 Hours

Description: Starting at the Mercado on Tucson’s West Side, we will transfer to the Starr Pass, Robles, and Sweetwater Trail Systems. From there you will enjoy beautiful views and established trails in the Sonoran desert.

DAY 4

HONEYBEE CANYON

Mileage: 25-40
Elevation Gain: 2000 – 3500 FT
Ride Time: 2.5 – 4 Hours

Description: With some of the best flowing single track you have ever ridden, as well as some excellent natural features to practice skills on, Honeybee Canyon has something for every level of rider. Each coach will work to mold the ride into exactly what you need after two hard days in the saddle.

DAY 5

MT LEMMON AND REDINGTON ROAD

Mileage: 25-50
Elevation Gain: 2000 – 3500 FT
Ride Time: 3 – 4 Hours

Description: Finishing in the shadow of the famous Mt. Lemmon, you will find yourself on a trail system that travels through several unique ecosystems on the final day of camp. Guided through the changing trails and terrain by Todd Wells and professional CTS coaches. With the goal of cementing what the skills, techniques, and strategies you have learned in Tucson.

Lunch: BAGGINS @ 12:30-1:30PM

Camp Conclusion: The ride up Redding Road closes out a great camp filled with incredible desert trail riding. Lunch will be waiting for you back at the office and you will have your final coach consultation session to review the week’s training data. This will conclude the camp, and those looking to head out of town early will be done by 3pm.

The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the camp and will be billed automatically. The credit card information used for your deposit will be billed unless otherwise arranged with the CTS accounting department.

Airports:

Tucson International Airport (TUS) is the closest airport to our office, a roughly 20 minute drive.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) from our office it is approximately a 2 hour drive.

Airport Transportation Arrival & Departure: If you choose to fly into and out of Phoenix you will be responsible for your transportation to and from the airport. The Arizona Shuttle runs from Tucson to Phoenix if you do not choose to rent a car.

Tucson – Phoenix Sky Harbor

If you are shipping your bike, please make sure it arrives at CTS by 2/26/2018 so we can have it built and prepped in time for camp.

After you sign up, please let the camp manager know if you would like us to pack your bike for shipping at the conclusion of the camp, we will do it free of charge.
