Camp Itinerary

DAY 1

CHECK-IN DAY

Where: CTS Santa Ynez Training Center

Check-in Time: 2:00-5:00PM

Arrival: After dropping of your bike and a brief check-in process, you’ll join the CTS coaching staff and fellow riders for a gourmet dinner and a preview of the week ahead. If you’d like to add any lab testing or a bike fit to your camp, it’s best to arrive before 2 pm on this day.

Dinner: TRATTORIA GRAPPOLO @ 6:00-7:30PM

DAY 2

THE EPIC CANYONS RIDE

Mileage: 70-90
Elevation Gain: 4500-8000 FT
Ride Time: 4.5 – 6 Hours

Description: This is a challenging route by any account!  We’ll tackle the most popular canyons of the Santa Ynez Valley – Drum, Alisos, Foxen, and Happy Canyons which of course concludes with the 10 mile climb up Figueroa Mountain.  You have to reach the dirt section on Fig by our cut-off time in order to complete the entire route.  Otherwise, you’re better off saving your legs for the coming two days.

Training Presentation @ 4:00PM

Lunch: CTS @ 2:30-3:30PM

DAY 3

THE TEPUSQUET DESTROYER

Mileage: 90-100
Elevation Gain: 5500-7000 FT
Ride Time: 4.5-6 Hours

Description: Another camp day and another challenging route with plenty of climbing, descending and group riding.  We ride via Foxen Canyon to the Tepusquet Canyon climb (featured in the Tour of CA last year).  If you’re fast enough we’ll tackle both sides of this beautiful climb before a circuitous route back to Santa Ynez that includes the Cat Canyon climb.

Training Presentation @ 6:00PM

Lunch: CTS @ 2:30-3:30PM

DAY 4

JALAMA AND BEYOND

Mileage: 85-105
Elevation Gain: 5500 – 8000 FT
Ride Time: 4.5 – 6 Hours

Description: Our final camp ride heads towards Jalama Beach.  Many consider the ride to Jalama to be the most beautiful in the area, and the views as you crest the final rise to the coast are amazing.  This is a technically challenging route with a deceptive amount of climbing, and as part of the Epic Endurance camp we’ll be adding extra miles and extra climbs onto the normal Jalama route.

Lunch: CTS @ 2:30-3:30PM

Camp Conclusion: Epic Endurance Camp concludes after a group lunch in Santa Ynez, following the final ride.  You’ll have the chance to review the ride data with a CTS Coach before we pack your bike and say farewell.
